A Race Against the Clock to Help a Community Charity Achieve Cyber Essentials

A community charity based in Redruth needed to achieve Cyber Essentials certification urgently to meet tender requirements. The challenge was compounded by the charity’s multiple users dispersed across several locations, making on-site support difficult.

Focus Technology managed the entire certification process remotely, including formulating critical policies and processes, delivering continuous staff cyber awareness training, and identifying and replacing end-of-life hardware. Within just two weeks, Focus successfully secured certification on time for the tender submission, enabling the charity to compete confidently.

Full Cloud Transformation for an E-Learning Company in Devon

An e-learning company was reliant on outdated on-premises servers and a custom-built internal CRM system, with no cloud presence. Concerned about the risks of significant technological changes, the company sought Focus Technology’s expertise.

We replaced desktops with cost-effective refurbished units, migrated all data and CRM systems to Microsoft Azure, and implemented secure VPN access and Azure Virtual Desktop. This modernisation enabled the company’s staff and remote learners to work flexibly and securely from anywhere. The migration is ongoing, with SharePoint implementation and plans to transition to Microsoft Dynamics, substantially improving operational efficiency and scalability.

Complex Data Cabling and Wireless Network Setup at a Historic Site in Falmouth

Focus Technology was engaged to retrofit network infrastructure across four connected buildings on the wharves at Falmouth, a site constrained by a thick concrete slab foundation that prevented traditional underground cabling.

The team designed and installed a neat, surface-mounted data cabling system with approximately 170 ports and point-to-point wireless links to ensure robust connectivity between buildings. Despite significant physical constraints and the need to comply with fire and building regulations, the installation was completed successfully, providing the client with reliable, scalable network infrastructure.
